These car coloring pages are for kids who make engine noises while they color. There are 12 printable sheets with race cars, monster trucks, tractors, trains, rockets, planets and a robot, so every vehicle fan finds something.
All of them are free to print at home or school on Letter or A4 paper. Use Print for one copy now, or Download to keep the sheet. For worksheets and labels, our car clipart and train and bus clipart pair well with these, and space fans should see our space clipart too.
Race Car and Sports Car Coloring Pages
Fast cars are the top request in this group. These three car coloring pages for kids go from a chunky race car to a sleek sports car with fine details.
A short, chunky race car with huge wheels and a blank circle on the door for a number. A checkered flag waves behind it.
Try this Have kids write their age in the door circle, then race paper cars across the table.
A low sports car is shown from the side with spoked rims, air vents and a long hood. Older kids can add stripes and racing decals.
Try this Ask kids to design their own paint job with stripes before coloring, then name the car.
A patrol car with roof lights rolls down a city street past a traffic light and a crosswalk. It is a nice tie-in to a community helpers unit.
Try this Use it during a community helpers week and have first graders list three ways officers help.
Monster Truck and Truck Coloring Pages
Big wheels, big jumps and big loads. These truck coloring pages show a monster truck in the air, a long semi truck and a fire truck ready to roll.
A monster truck flies off a dirt ramp with its giant tires spinning. Flames are left off, so kids can draw their own designs on the body.
Try this Have kids draw a pattern on the truck body, then add speed lines with a black crayon.
A big rig with a tall cab, chrome stacks and an 18 wheel trailer cruises down a highway. The blank trailer side is ready for a logo of your own.
Try this Ask second graders to design a company logo on the trailer for something they would deliver.
A fire engine with a long ladder, rolled hoses and a big bell sits outside the station. It is a classic for preschool helpers units.
Try this Color it during fire safety week, then practice stop, drop and roll as a class.
Tractor, Construction and Train Coloring Pages
Farm and work vehicles are a hit with kids who love digging and building. A steam train rounds out the set.
A tractor with a big back wheel pulls a wagon full of hay bales past a barn. A chicken watches from the fence.
Try this Pair it with a farm book and have kids count the hay bales out loud.
An excavator scoops dirt into a dump truck while traffic cones and a crane fill the site. There is a lot to look at and color.
Try this Ask kids to label each machine and say what job it does on the site.
A steam train pulls three cars over a bridge toward a tunnel, with smoke puffs and pine trees. Fine lines on the bridge add challenge.
Try this Have third graders draw the next part of the track on a second sheet and tape it on.
Space, Planet and Robot Coloring Pages
Kids who love machines often love outer space too. These pages feature a rocket blasting off, the planets in a row and a friendly robot.
A tall rocket with round windows blasts off with a tail of puffy flames, past stars and a ringed planet. The shapes are big and bold.
Try this Count down from ten as a class, then color the rocket together as a launch day activity.
The sun sits in a corner with all eight planets in order along a curve. Saturn has wide rings, and each planet is sized to compare.
Try this Have third graders label each planet in order and color them using a real photo as a guide.
A boxy robot waves with claw hands, showing gears, dials and buttons on its chest. Kids can invent what every button does.
Try this Ask kids to label three buttons on the robot and write what each one makes it do.
Vehicle Pages by Grade
| Grade | Pages | Quick tie-in |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-K and K | Race car, fire truck, tractor, rocket | Colors and counting |
| 1 to 2 | Police car, monster truck, excavator, robot | Community helpers, simple machines |
| 3 to 5 | Sports car, semi truck, train, planets | Solar system, map skills |
Airplane fans can draw a plane in the sky of the rocket page, and school bus lovers can add one beside the police car on the city street.
Making Vehicles Look Shiny
Cars and trucks look most real when they shine. Leave a thin strip of white on the hood and the windows. Color the tires dark grey instead of solid black so you can still see the treads. For chrome parts like bumpers and stacks, use light grey with a streak of light blue.
For space pages, try the reverse: color the sky dark blue or purple first, then leave the stars white. A white gel pen adds tiny extra stars after the crayon is done.
Play Ideas Beyond the Page
- Road rug: Tape colored cars to a long strip of butcher paper with a drawn road and let kids drive them around.
- Garage sort: Sort finished pages into farm, city and space groups on the wall.
- Story starter: Pick a vehicle and write where it is going and who is inside.
When the vehicles run out, our dinosaur coloring pages are another favorite with the same crowd.
Questions people ask
Are these car coloring pages free?
Yes. Print the cars, trucks and rockets for home, daycare, a classroom or a birthday party. Crediting us is welcome but optional. Please keep them off anything you sell unless you have asked us first, and do not resell the sheets.
Which monster truck coloring pages are best for kids?
The monster truck jumping over a ramp suits ages 5 to 9. Its body is left plain, so kids can draw flames, stripes or stars before they color. For younger kids, the chunky race car is easier.
Do you have space coloring pages for kids?
Yes. The rocket is easy for preschoolers, and the planets page shows all eight planets in order for older kids. Pair them with our space clipart for a full outer space unit.
Are there tractor and construction coloring pages?
Yes. The tractor with hay bales is easy, and the construction site has an excavator, a dump truck and a crane. They are great for kids who love digging toys.
Do you have train coloring pages?
The steam train crossing a bridge is the train page in this set. It has fine lines on the bridge and is best for ages 8 and up.
Can I print several car coloring pages at once?
Download the sheets you want, select them all and choose Print. Set fit to page so the wheels and edges are not cut off.
